Edit instead of just view. If you share a document you wrote yourself (a run sheet, for example) with a contact using “Editor (can edit)”, the portal now shows an Edit action next to the document. Until now it only offered Open — the document was read-only in the portal, even though the share level promised more.
Saving happens right in the portal. The editor is the same one you know from the back office: format the text, save. The title and attachments stay with you in the back office — the share only ever covers the content.
Nobody overwrites the other person’s work. If you changed the document in the meantime, the contact sees a note on saving that the document has changed in the meantime and reloads. What they had written is not lost.
View-only shares stay view-only. A contact who may only look at a document still sees Open and nothing else — the edit action appears exclusively on “Editor” shares.
Note: you can still only share documents you wrote yourself. Uploaded files (PDF, images) keep working exactly as before: they are downloaded, not edited.
