- Text positions in quotes, invoices and delivery notes. Need a sentence between two groups of items — “We would be happy to serve the following drinks to welcome your guests:” — with more items underneath? Click Add text position below the line items, write the sentence and drag it where it belongs, just like an item. The menu of any line item also lets you insert one directly above or below. In the PDF it is printed across the full width, without number, quantity or price.
- Insert text blocks instead of building a section from one. You keep creating frequently used sentences under Settings › Templates as text blocks. In the document the button is now called Insert text block and adds a text position holding a copy of the sentence. The block in the catalogue stays untouched — changing it in the quote does not change the block, and the other way round. The old way of turning a text block into a section is no longer needed and has been removed.
- Formatting for text positions, text blocks and descriptions. Bold, italic, bulleted and numbered lists and coloured highlights — the same palette as the product description. That lets you emphasise exactly what your guests should read in an introductory sentence.
- Product descriptions arrive formatted. If an item's description is formatted in your inventory, the quote takes it over with its formatting. You can keep editing it on the line item, and the PDF prints it exactly that way.
- Formatted text block in the event configurator. The text block your guests see while booking can now be formatted the same way as a product description.
Good to know
- Text positions travel with your documents. Save a line item template, turn a quote into an invoice or a delivery note, create a new version, duplicate a document or copy an event — the text lines come along, in the same place and with the same text.
- Totals stay as they are. A text position has no price and counts towards no total, tax or subtotal. It never appears in bookings, the function sheet or the production list.
- Sorting by category. When the PDF sorts by category rather than by section, a text position stays with the items you placed it between — it does not drift to the end.
- Older Word templates do not print text positions. If you still use one of those and need the sentence in the PDF, switch to a layout from the layout editor or get in touch via the help button in the app.
