Working with Templates in Univents
After reading this guide you will know which template types exist in Univents and how to create, edit, and use them through the central Templates Hub.
Univents brings all template types together in one place: under Settings > Templates you will find a unified overview covering everything from finance documents to run-of-show schedules, shift templates, and task templates.

The Templates Hub
The hub under Settings > Templates lists all saved templates on a single page. Use the filter buttons — All, Finance Document, Run of Show, Event, Team, Contributors, Tasks, Shift — to quickly narrow down to a specific type.
Create new templates using the New Template button in the top right. A dropdown shows all available types. For types that have their own dedicated editor (Finance Document, Run of Show, Event) you are taken directly into that editor; for all other types a dialog opens inline within the hub.
At the bottom of the hub there is a More Templates section with direct links to Contract Templates, Whiteboard Templates, Finance Document Layouts, and Staff Plan Templates.

Time Logic: Relative Offsets
For run-of-show, task, and shift templates, Univents stores times not as fixed dates but relative to the event date. The offset field can be anchored to Event Start or Event End, combined with a value in Minutes, Hours, or Days and the direction before or after.
Example: a task with the offset "4 days before Event Start" will automatically appear as due on 16 Sep when the event is on 20 Sep. No manual calculation needed.
Managing Contract Templates
Contract templates are grouped under Settings > Contract Templates (also reachable via More Templates in the hub). A new template is not created here — it is created directly from an existing contract: open the contract and choose "Save as Template".
On the settings page you can see all saved contract templates with their name and last-modified date. To edit a template:
- Click the template name — the field becomes editable in place.
- Change the name and confirm with Enter or click away to save.
- To remove a template, click the delete icon in the row and confirm the dialog.
When creating a new contract you can select a saved template; the content and title are carried over, but the recipient and signatures are not.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I rename a template after it has been saved? Yes — in the Templates Hub click the template name in the row, type the new name, and confirm with Enter. The same approach works for contract templates on the Contract Templates page.
Will existing events be affected if I delete a template? No. Events and documents that were created from a template remain unchanged. The template is only removed for future use.
Where do I save a run-of-show as a template? Directly inside the event: open the Run of Show tab, open a plan, and choose "Save as Template" there. The template then appears under Settings > Run-of-Show Templates and in the hub.
Can I insert multiple line items at once from a template? That is what Finance Document templates (formerly "Line Item Templates") are for: group several line items into one template and insert the entire block into a quote or invoice in a single step.
