Import Contacts
After reading this, you'll be able to upload a CSV file of contacts into Univents, map the columns to the correct fields, and complete the import.
The CSV import lets you upload any contact list from Excel, Google Sheets, or another CRM directly into Univents. The assistant auto-detects columns and shows you a preview before the import is finalized.

Start the import
- Open the Contacts section in the left navigation.
- Click Importieren in the top right.
- The "Kontakte importieren" dialog opens.
Upload a CSV file
In the first step of the dialog you'll see a drop zone with the label CSV-Datei auswählen.
- Click the area to open the file browser, or
- drag your file directly onto the dashed area (oder hierher ziehen).
Files in .csv format are supported, with either comma or semicolon delimiters. Univents detects the delimiter automatically. Make sure the first row of your file contains the column headers.
Map columns
After uploading, Univents displays all columns from your file under the heading Spalten zuordnen and automatically maps them to the matching fields. You can adjust any mapping using the dropdown:
| Field in Univents | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Vorname | First name |
| Nachname | Last name |
| Email address | |
| Telefon | Phone number |
| Firma | Company name |
| — Ignorieren — | This column will not be imported |
Columns that aren't matched to a field are automatically set to — Ignorieren —. Click Vorschau to continue.
Review the preview
In the third step you'll see a table showing the first rows of your file exactly as they will be imported. The total row count is displayed in the top right. Check that First name, Last name, Email, Phone, and Company are populated as expected. If the mapping looks wrong, click Zurück to go back and correct it.
Once everything looks right, click Importieren. After the import completes, Univents shows a confirmation with the number of contacts imported.
Frequently asked questions
Which file format is supported? Only .csv files. Excel files (.xlsx) must be exported as CSV first: in Excel via File > Save As > CSV (Semicolon-delimited), in Google Sheets via File > Download > Comma-separated values (.csv).
What happens to columns that aren't mapped? They are set to — Ignorieren — and are not imported. Your original file is left unchanged.
Can duplicate contacts be created? Univents does not automatically check for duplicates during import. If a contact already exists, a second record will be created. Review your list for duplicates before importing.
How many contacts can I import at once? There is no fixed upper limit for standard imports. Very large files (several thousand rows) may take a few extra seconds to process.
