Top Products by Net Revenue

After reading this, you'll know which of your products generated the highest net revenue from invoice line items in a selected period, and how to adjust the date range.

The Top Products report shows you up to 20 of your highest-revenue items at a glance. It is based on all line items from invoices and credit notes within the selected period — sorted in descending order by net revenue.

Top Products by Net Revenue

Opening the report

  1. Navigate to Reports in the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Top Products tile in the Reports hub.
  3. The report opens with a default date range covering the last twelve months.

Use the Back to Reports link (top left, with an arrow icon) to return to the overview at any time.

Filtering by date range

The date filter with the From and To fields is located above the table on the right. Select a date in either field — the table updates immediately, without needing to press a confirm button.

The default range starts on the first day of the month eleven months ago and ends today. You can enter any date range you like, including individual weeks, quarters, or multiple years.

Understanding the table

Each row represents a product. The columns mean:

ColumnDescription
#Rank within the selected period (1 = highest revenue)
ProductName of the item from the product catalog
RevenueTotal net revenue across all invoice line items (minus credit notes)
QuantityTotal quantity of billed units
DocumentsNumber of invoices and credit notes in which the product appears

All amounts are shown in euros excluding VAT.

What is included in the report

Only line items from documents of type Invoice and Credit Note that were created within the selected period are included. Quotes, delivery notes, and document templates are not counted. Line items without a product link (free-text line items) are also excluded.

Frequently asked questions

The table is empty even though I have invoices. First check the date range you have set. The report filters by the document creation date. If your invoice date falls outside the From/To window, those invoices will not appear. Also check whether the line items on your invoices are actually linked to a product from the catalog — pure free-text line items are not evaluated.

Why does the revenue here differ from the value in the Finance dashboard? The Finance dashboard shows gross revenue (including VAT) and may use a different reference date. This report is based on net values from invoice line items. Both sources may also cover different time periods.

I can only see a maximum of 20 products. The report is limited to the 20 highest-revenue products. If you need all line items, export the invoices via the Finance Documents list.
