Typing the date, required selection, registration deadline and lead time for several booking pages

After reading this article you'll know how your guests type their preferred date straight into the field, how to require at least one package or product (even without prices), how a registration deadline with your own notice works on booking and ticket pages, and how to set the lead time for several booking pages at once.

Four small settings make your booking and ticket pages easier for guests and more reliable for you: the date can be typed in, a request without a package can be ruled out, sign-ups close after a fixed date, and you set the lead time for many pages in one step.

Typing the preferred date

On the public booking page your guest picks the date in the calendar as before — or types it straight into the field, for example 09.04.2027. For a date a few months out that saves paging through the calendar. The date is taken over as soon as the guest leaves the field or presses Enter. This works for the start date and, for multi-day events, for the end date too.

Typing never allows what the calendar doesn't offer:

  • A day before your minimum lead time is not accepted.
  • A blocked day (blocked period, fully booked day, occupied venue) is not accepted.
  • A day that doesn't exist (such as 31.02.) is not accepted.

In all three cases the previous date stays, and a line below the field explains why. Univents checks lead time and blocked days again on submit anyway.

There's nothing to set up — the field is there on every booking page with a date picker.

Requiring at least one package or product

If you don't want any request to arrive without a package, open the booking page and switch on Require at least one package or product under Section 04 Price, order and quote.

  • Your guest can only submit once at least one package or product is in the cart. Until then the submit button is locked and the notice Please choose at least one package or product. sits next to it.
  • This works without prices too. The minimum order value needs an amount and therefore doesn't apply on pages with hidden prices — this switch does.
  • Mandatory products that the page puts into the cart itself don't count as a choice. The guest has to pick something on top.
  • On ticket pages the switch has no effect — there the ticket is the choice.

The switch applies to the stepper, the inquiry form, the webshop and the AI chat. Univents also checks it on submit, so it can't be bypassed.

Registration deadline with your own notice

A registration deadline is a fixed date and time up to which sign-ups are possible. After that the page stays reachable — links and pages embedded on your website keep working — but shows your notice instead of the form.

For a booking page: open the page, go to Section 02 Inquiries and enter date and time under Registration deadline.

For a ticket page: in the event, open the Tickets tab, click Edit and enter the Registration deadline in the Sale section.

How the deadline behaves:

  • The time applies in your workspace's time zone.
  • As soon as a deadline is set, the field Notice after the deadline appears. If you leave it empty, guests see the default text “Registration has closed. Sign-ups through this page are no longer possible.” You can translate the text under Languages.
  • If a guest opened the page before the deadline and submits afterwards, Univents rejects the sign-up and says why.
  • Clear the Registration deadline field again and the page is open again right away.

Lead time for several booking pages at once

The minimum lead time sets how many days in advance your guests must book at least. You still set it per page in Section 02 Inquiries — or for several pages at once:

  1. Open the list of your Booking pages.
  2. Click Set lead time at the top.
  3. Enter the Minimum lead time (days) (0 to 365; 0 means bookable on the same day).
  4. Select the pages. Each page shows its current lead time next to it. All booking pages selects every page at once – except ticket pages.
  5. Click Apply to … pages.

Event forms don't appear in the selection, they have no date. Ticket pages are listed but not preselected: a lead time there ends ticket sales that many days before the event. If that's what you want, tick the ticket page individually. Pages of another business unit that you may not edit are greyed out and skipped — the message after saving says how many.

You'll find the other settings of your booking pages in the article Create & configure booking pages.
