Bexio Integration — Activate & Use
After reading this article you'll be able to connect Bexio to your Univents workspace and manage the connection.
Bexio is the widely used accounting and SME software in Switzerland. With the Bexio integration you connect your Univents workspace to your Bexio account so that contact data can be synchronised.

Requirements
Before setting up the integration you will need:
- An active Bexio account with API access
- The Client ID and Client Secret of your Bexio app (available in the Bexio developer portal under "API Applications")
- The Owner role in your Univents workspace (only Owners can connect and disconnect integrations)
If you have not yet created an API application in Bexio, create a new app there and note down the generated credentials.
Connecting Bexio
- Open Settings in the left sidebar of Univents.
- Click the Integrations card.
- Scroll to the Accounting section.
- In the Bexio card you will see the status Not connected.
- Enter your Client ID in the field of the same name.
- Enter your Client Secret in the Client Secret field.
- Click Connect.
After saving, the status indicator switches to Connected. The credentials are stored encrypted and are no longer visible in plain text once the connection is established.
Checking Status and Running a Sync
Once the integration is active, the card shows the status Connected along with the timestamp of the last synchronisation under Last synced:.
Use the Sync now button to trigger a manual synchronisation of your contacts. The sync runs in the background; once complete, the timestamp is updated.
Disconnecting
To deactivate the integration:
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Accounting → Bexio.
- Click Disconnect.
The stored credentials are removed. Your Bexio data remains untouched. You can reactivate the integration at any time by entering your credentials again.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which role do I need? Only workspace Owners can connect, sync, and disconnect integrations. Team members with other roles can view the settings page but cannot make changes.
Where do I find the Client ID and Client Secret in Bexio? Log in to Bexio and go to the developer settings (API section). There you can create a new OAuth app or open an existing one to view the credentials.
What happens to my data when I disconnect? The credentials stored in Univents are deleted. All data previously synchronised in Bexio remains intact. The connection can be re-established at any time.
The sync shows no error but nothing changes — why? Make sure that the Client ID and Client Secret you entered belong to an active Bexio app and that this app has the necessary permissions for contacts in Bexio.
