Upload documents for your setup
After this article you know how to upload product lists, old quotes and invoices, logos, floor plans and customer lists for your setup straight into Univents – many files and whole folders, up to 50 MB per file – and who can see the files.
So the Univents team can set up your workspace for you, we need your existing documents: product lists, quotes and invoices from recent years, letterhead and logos, floor plans, customer lists. You upload them straight into Univents – no Google account, no shared folder and no email attachments.
Where to upload the documents
Open Settings → Setup documents. In a new workspace you also find the link in the start checklist on the home page: “Upload your documents for the setup”.
Owners and admins without restrictions can upload and view them (admins need the right to edit settings and must not be limited to individual sites). People with read-only access or crew members don’t see the page.
Upload folders and files
- Drag one or more folders into the area “Drag folders or files here” – or click Choose folder or Choose files.
- Univents collects every file, including subfolders. The folder structure is kept, so we can see later what belongs together.
- The upload starts right away. You see how many files and how many gigabytes are already up, and the progress of the files currently running.
System files such as .DS_Store, Thumbs.db, desktop.ini or Office lock files (~$…) are left out automatically.
Large amounts and interruptions
You can upload many files and whole folders, up to 50 MB per file. Each file is transferred in small parts, at most three files at a time. A workspace holds up to 50,000 files and 100 GB in total.
- Pause: Pause stops the upload, Resume continues where it stopped.
- Page reloaded or connection lost: just pick the same folder again. Finished files are skipped, partial ones continue from where they stopped.
- Failed files are listed with the reason under Not uploaded. Try again uploads them once more.
- Files over 50 MB get their own message right when you pick them and are not uploaded, the rest keeps running. Split such files into smaller ones (for example one large ZIP into several) or let us know.
Keep the tab open while an upload is running. If you try to close it, the browser asks first.
Who can see the files
The files are stored privately in your workspace. Only the owners and admins of your workspace see the list; only the Univents team can download the files. We use them only to set up your workspace.
Under Uploaded files you see everything that is already up – with folder, size, date and who uploaded it. Files whose upload failed are marked failed: pick the same folder again and Univents retries them, or delete them from the list. The trash icon deletes a file; Univents asks for confirmation first.
