Using Univents in eight languages

After reading this article you'll know which eight languages Univents supports, where to change the interface, content and document language, what “Beta” means, and what to watch for with invoices in a new language.

Univents is available in eight languages: German, English, French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Polish and Portuguese (Portugal). The six new languages are machine-translated and marked (Beta) in the language switcher. Languages work separately in several places — this article shows you where.

What appears in which language

  • The interface — menus, buttons and labels in your workspace.
  • Booking pages, products, categories and locations — the texts your guests read.
  • Guest pages — RSVP pages, forms, galleries, the customer portal and tickets.
  • Documents — quotes, order confirmations, delivery notes, invoices and credit notes.
  • Emails, notifications and push — Univents’ standard emails go out in the recipient’s language.
  • AI chat and AI translation — the chat replies in your language, and translation works between any pair of languages.

Date and number formats follow the respective country, for example 02/10/2026 and 1 234,56 € in French.

The help center itself remains in German and English. Demos and meetings with us take place in German or English.

Change the interface language for yourself

The interface language applies to you personally and is free on every plan:

  1. Click the language switcher at the top of the header.
  2. Choose the language you want. The new languages are marked (Beta).
  3. The page reloads and shows the interface in the chosen language.

Staff in the staff portal choose their language on the Me page.

Set the workspace content language

The base language of the account determines which language new content, documents and emails are written in by default. You'll find it under Settings > Language & Region in the Content language section. More in “Setting Language, Region & Time Format”.

Offer content in additional languages

Additional languages for content that guests read are part of the Multilingual feature and are available from the Growth plan. The interface language is not affected.

  • Booking page: In the booking page editor, you choose in the Languages section which languages the page appears in. Guests see a switcher at the top. Anything without a translation stays in the base language. The steps are in “Offer your booking page in multiple languages”.
  • Products, categories and locations: Translate the name and description directly in the respective dialog using the language switcher next to the field. On request, AI suggests a translation you can review before saving.
  • Guest pages: On RSVP pages, forms, galleries and in the customer portal, the language is preselected from the browser language. Guests can switch it there themselves.

Issue documents in another language

In the document editor, choose the document language under Language. Univents uses a matching layout for each language; if one is missing, Univents creates it with the first document in that language.

Invoices and credit notes in a new language: If you choose a language other than German or English for an invoice or credit note, the editor shows a notice to check your country’s legal requirements. The notice does not block you. Univents translates the document but does not guarantee that it meets a country’s legal requirements — Portugal, for example, requires certified software, Italy uses the SDI system, and Poland uses KSeF. Please clarify this beforehand with your tax advisor.

Once issued, a document’s language can no longer be changed.

Frequently asked questions

What does “Beta” mean? The new languages are machine-translated and have not yet been reviewed by native speakers. You can report mistakes through the feedback form.

Does the interface language cost extra? No. Only offering content to guests in additional languages requires the Growth plan.

Are existing contents translated automatically? No. Existing content stays unchanged; you maintain translations per item or let AI suggest them.

Why does a customer’s email arrive in English instead of their language? Univents’ standard emails exist in all eight languages. If you created your own email template in only one language, recipients in a new language receive the standard email in their language instead. Create your own version under Settings > Email templates.
