Offer your booking page in English

Enable English, translate the page texts, approve your product translations and test the finished page — in that order.

Every booking page can also be offered in English. Guests with an English-language browser then land on the English version automatically, while everyone else keeps seeing German. At the top of the page there is a DE / EN switch, and you can hand out the English address directly — whoever opens the link sees the same language you saw when you copied it.

German always stays the basis. You are not replacing anything, you are adding a second version next to it.

Before you start

  • The page has to be saved once. The Languages section only appears once you open an existing page via Configure — it is missing on a brand-new page that has never been saved.
  • Editing requires the Growth plan. You can view the section on any plan. Without Growth you see a note there instead of the input fields. Translations you have already maintained stay online, even while your plan does not let you edit them.
  • Form pages for speakers and exhibitors stay German. Pages using the Event form design deliberately have no Languages section.

Step 1: Enable English

  1. Open Booking Pages in the settings and click Configure on the page you want.
  2. Pick Languages in the section bar on the left.
  3. Turn on the switch Also offer this page in English.

From now on the public page shows the DE | EN switch. As long as you have not entered any English texts, the content stays German — so nothing breaks if you stop halfway through.

Step 2: Translate the page texts

In the same section, use the language switcher to put the whole page into English mode. There is deliberately only one language mode for all fields, so you cannot end up with a single field left in German and a guest reading a half-translated page.

Here you can translate:

  • the page name
  • the short description — it is used for search engines and shared links
  • the full description text, including its formatting
  • the heading above your products
  • the slogan in the header area, if your page has one

In German mode the same spots show your original texts as a reference, so you never have to jump between two tabs.

Getting a suggested translation: the translate button next to the language switcher fills all English fields with a suggestion at once. It only lands in the form at first. Read through it, change whatever does not fit, and then click Save translations. Only that click makes the texts visible to guests.

Translations have their own save button and are not tied to the editor's autosave. Feel free to edit your German texts in the other sections first and come back afterwards.

Step 3: Translate products, categories and questions

The Languages section covers the texts belonging to the page itself. Everything you maintain elsewhere is translated there too, each time using the same language switcher next to the field:

  • Products: name and description are edited on the product itself in the inventory.
  • Categories: the name is translated in the category dialog in the inventory.
  • Your own questions: question text and answer options are translated directly on the question.

On the booking page all of this comes together as one consistently English view. Wherever a translation is missing, the German text appears.

Step 4: Approve your product translations

English product texts are only shown to a guest once a person has approved them. This is not extra red tape — it is the reason these texts can be trusted:

The English product names carried over during a migration from an older system were machine-generated and never checked. Some of them are word for word the German text, some are simply mistranslated — and in a few cases the English version drops the note that a dish is vegetarian or vegan. That note is exactly what a guest with dietary requirements relies on.

So the rule is: without your approval, the German text appears. That looks unusual to an English-speaking guest, but it is correct in every case — unlike a translation nobody has read.

The approval sits on the product in the inventory, right next to the English texts. Go through the products bookable on this page, check the English name and description, and approve them. With food, pay particular attention to whether wording such as vegetarian or vegan survived in the English version.

Step 5: Test the page

  1. Open the page via Open live preview.
  2. Switch to EN at the top and walk the whole flow once — products, your questions, the cart and the confirmation.
  3. Watch for spots where German text shows up unexpectedly. That always means the same thing: either the translation or the approval is missing there.
  4. Copy the address from your browser's address bar while you are on English and open it in a different browser. That is how you check the link you will later send to international customers.

What happens after an English inquiry

When someone inquires through the English version, Univents remembers the language:

  • The confirmation email goes out in English.
  • The quote created from the inquiry starts in English as well.

So there is no language to set afterwards. How to change the language of an individual document later is described in Finance documents: quotes, invoices & delivery notes.

Frequently asked questions

I enabled English but still see German. Your browser is set to German — that is the expected behaviour. Switch to EN manually at the top.

How do I turn English off again? Flip the switch in the Languages section back. The switch then disappears for guests, while your English texts stay saved and are back immediately when you enable the language again.

Do I have to translate everything before enabling it? No. Anything without a translation appears in German. So you can start with the most important texts and add the rest later.

Are French or Italian available? Not yet — the booking page supports German and English.
